Swiss Paralympic team for Milano Cortina 2026

Just over a year to go, and then it's time: from 6 to 15 March 2026, the Paralympic Winter Games 2026 will be held in Milan and Cortina. The anticipation is building – and Switzerland is sending a small but highly motivated team to the starting line. Nine athletes will be flying the flag for us, and I'm convinced they'll give us plenty of goosebump moments.

Take the Para-snowboarder, for instance, who suffered a horrific accident a few years ago. Many would have given up, but he fought his way back – with one clear goal: "I want to be the best." That's exactly the attitude that defines our whole team. Alongside him, eight other Swiss competitors will be vying for medals in disciplines like alpine skiing, biathlon and snowboard. I've been following their progress over the last few months, watching them train – the potential is immense.

Three dates to mark in red

The schedule for the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games is packed with thrilling finals. Here are three days you should definitely circle on your calendar if you want to catch the Swiss medal chances live:

  • Day 1 – The opening salvo: Right from the off on day one, we have the alpine skiing downhills and the first biathlon races. Our speed specialists are always good for a surprise on the fast pistes of Lombardy. The Day 1 highlights promise to be spine-tingling – let's see if that first podium finish comes on the very first day.
  • Day 4 – Downhill drama in Cortina: The fourth competition day puts the men's and women's downhills firmly in the spotlight. In Cortina, they'll be racing down icy slopes, demanding nerves of steel and real skill. The perfect course for our top guns. The Day 4 highlights will reveal who truly masters the mountain.
  • Day 7 – Boardercross showdown: Then there's day seven, when the snowboard cross decisions are made. Our comeback king will throw everything at it to realise his gold medal dream. I've watched him train – he's faster than ever. The Day 7 highlights will be a celebration for every snowboard fan.

Milan and Cortina: A stage for big emotions

The venues for the Paralympic Winter Games – Milan Cortina 2026 (ITA) couldn't be more different: sophisticated Milan, Italy's fashion capital, meets charming Cortina in the Dolomites. Together, they provide the perfect backdrop for stories of passion, fighting spirit and triumph. The Italians are known for their incredible enthusiasm – I'm sure the crowds will be electric. And our Swiss fans will be giving it their all to cheer the team on loudly.

So, set your alarms, plan your evenings – these are Games we won't forget in a hurry. Behind every medal is a story worth telling. I'm looking forward to ten unforgettable days – and hopefully, you are too. Come on, Switzerland!
