Swiss Paralympic Team for Milano Cortina 2026

Just over a year to go, and it's almost time: From March 6 to 15, 2026, the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games will be held in Milan and Cortina. The excitement is building – and Switzerland is sending a small but highly motivated team to the starting line. Nine athletes will be representing our colours, and I'm convinced they'll give us moments that send shivers down your spine.

Take, for instance, the para-snowboarder who suffered a horrific accident a few years ago. Many would have given up, but he fought his way back – with a clear goal: "I want to be the best." It's precisely this attitude that defines our entire team. Alongside him, eight other Swiss athletes will be competing for medals in disciplines like Alpine skiing, biathlon, and snowboard. I've followed them over the past few months, seen their training – the potential is immense.

Three Dates You Absolutely Must Circle on Your Calendar

The schedule for the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games is packed with thrilling finals. There are three days you should mark in your calendar if you want to experience Swiss medal chances live:

  • Day 1 – The Grand Start: It kicks off right on the first day with the Alpine skiing downhill events and the first biathlon races. Our speed specialists are always good for a surprise on the fast slopes of Lombardy. The Day 1 highlights promise goosebump moments – stay tuned to see if the first podium finish happens on opening day itself.
  • Day 4 – Downhill Thriller in Cortina: The fourth competition day focuses on the men's and women's downhills. In Cortina, it's down icy slopes, demanding nerves of steel and top-notch skill. Just the right track for our top guns. The Day 4 highlights will show who masters the piste best.
  • Day 7 – Showdown in Boardercross: Then there's Day 7, when the snowboard cross decisions are made. Our comeback king will give it his all to realise his dream of gold. I've watched him train – he's faster than ever. The Day 7 highlights will be a celebration for all snowboard fans.

Milan and Cortina: A Stage for Powerful Emotions

The venues for the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games (ITA) couldn't be more different: sophisticated Milan, Italy's fashion capital, meets charming Cortina in the Dolomites. Together, they provide the perfect backdrop for stories of passion, fighting spirit, and triumph. The Italians are known for their enthusiasm – I'm sure the stadiums will be electric. And our Swiss fans will give their all to support the team loudly.

So, set your alarms, plan your evenings – these are Games we won't forget anytime soon. Behind every medal is a story worth telling. I'm looking forward to ten unforgettable days – and hopefully, you are too. Let's go, Switzerland!
