TV 2 Weather: Storm hits hard – here’s how it affects holiday homes and flights

Now it's hitting hard: Storm and rain on the way
I've just checked TV 2 Weather, and it's shaping up to be a wet and windy affair. After a spring-like morning with a few breaks in the cloud cover, a proper storm is now on its way into Denmark. A warning has just been issued, forecasting storm-force gusts before another bout of rain hits us. Time to dig out the rain gear and batten down the hatches.
Look after your holiday home: Hasmark Strand and Binderup Strand in the firing line
North Jutland, in particular, needs to be on alert. I'm thinking of all of you who have booked a Holiday home - Hasmark Strand or a Holiday home - Binderup Strand this week. These coastal areas are exactly where the wind will have free rein. Make sure to secure garden furniture, trampolines, and any other loose items – and double-check that the patio door is properly closed. It could be a noisy night out there.
Flight disruptions: Keep an eye on mh96384
Are you one of those flying today? Then keep a very close eye on your departure. I can see that several routes are already reporting delays, and if you're waiting for mh96384, for instance, be prepared that it might be delayed or cancelled. It's never fun being stuck in the airport while a storm rages outside – but better to be prepared than caught off guard.
When the weather plays up: Bingo Banko to the rescue
When the rain is lashing against the windows and the wind is howling around the corners, there's only one thing for it: get the cosy activities out. Many Danes have already rolled out the blankets and switched on Bingo Banko on the telly. It's the perfect excuse to stay indoors with a mug of hot chocolate and maybe a slice of homemade cake. And you might as well win a prize while you're waiting for the weather to sort itself out.
Here are a few good tips to get you through the storm:
- Stay updated with TV 2 Weather – they know exactly when the worst of it will hit.
- Secure the garden and patio, especially if you're staying in a holiday home near Hasmark or Binderup Strand.
- Check on flight status if you're travelling – keep a special eye on mh96384.
- Get the games out – Bingo Banko is always a hit when the weather is fit for neither man nor beast.
We can only hope the storm doesn't last too long, and that we'll soon get some milder spring weather again. Until then: Take care of yourselves and each other out there – and remember, even the wildest gale always blows itself out in the end.
