TV 2 Weather

Here it comes: Storm and rain on the way

I've just checked TV 2 Weather, and it's shaping up to be a wet and windy one. After a spring-like morning with a bit of a break in the clouds, a proper storm is now moving in across Denmark. A warning has just been issued, forecasting gale-force wind gusts before another bout of rain hits us. Time to dig out the rain gear and batten down the hatches.

Look after your holiday home: Hasmark Beach and Binderup Beach in the firing line

North Jutland especially needs to be on alert. I'm thinking of all of you who've booked a Holiday home - Hasmark Beach or a Holiday home - Binderup Beach this week. These coastal areas are exactly where the wind will have the most freedom. Make sure you secure any outdoor furniture, trampolines, and other loose items – and double-check that the sliding door is properly closed. It could be a noisy night out there.

Flight disruptions: Keep an eye on mh96384

Are you one of the people flying today? Then keep a very close eye on your departure. I can see several routes are already reporting delays, and if you're waiting for, say, mh96384, be prepared for the possibility it could be delayed or cancelled. Being stuck at the airport while a storm rages is never fun – but better to be prepared than caught off guard.

When the weather turns: Bingo Banko to the rescue

When the rain is lashing against the windows and the wind is howling around the corners, there's only one thing for it: get out the good old indoor comforts. Plenty of Danes have already rolled out the blankets and switched on Bingo Banko on the telly. It's the perfect excuse to stay inside with a cup of hot chocolate and maybe a slice of home-baked cake. And hey, you might as well win a prize while you're waiting for the weather to clear up.

Here are a few handy tips to get through the storm:

  • Stay updated with TV 2 Weather – they know exactly when the worst will hit.
  • Secure the garden and patio, especially if you're staying in a holiday home at Hasmark or Binderup Beach.
  • Check on flights if you're travelling – keep a special eye on mh96384.
  • Get the games out – Bingo Banko is always a hit when the weather is absolutely shocking.

All we can do is hope this wild weather doesn't last too long, and that we'll get some milder spring conditions again soon. Until then: look after yourselves and each other out there – and remember, even the wildest storm always blows over.
