Finally Friday, the 27th of March. There’s something special about this time of year, as March draws to a close and we start to catch the scent of Easter in the air. The sun is fighting to break through and you can’t help but feel a little flutter of excitement – because things are really starting to happen. I’ve been chatting with a few readers this morning who are feeling a huge surge of energy, and if you look at the stars today, it’s easy to see why.

Today’s Horoscope: The Stars’ Advice for Friday

For those of you who follow astrology, this is a truly fascinating day. Aries, who are currently in their absolute prime, are getting a visit from a harmonious aspect that means any projects started earlier in the month are suddenly falling into place. Leo, on the other hand, should be mindful of communication. Word has it there could be a slight tendency for misunderstandings around lunchtime, so double-check those texts before you hit send. For me, born under a different sign, it’s more about daring to let go of control. Mars is shining strongly in the sky, pushing us to take those steps we’ve been putting off. Today isn’t the day to be timid – it’s the day to act.

From Outer Space to the Living Room

When we talk about Mars (the planet, that is, not the month), it immediately gets me in the mood for something completely different. Maybe that’s why my social feeds have been full of a particular trend this week. People online are getting into what they call the “Marshalls challenge” – you know, that American chain where you can pick up bits and pieces for next to nothing. The combination of hunting for bargains at Marshalls and then cosying up on the sofa with a big pile of marshmallows is apparently the new Friday night ritual. And I have to say, I’m all for it.

  • Marshalls: Perfect for finding those quirky homeware bits ahead of the Easter weekend.
  • Marshmallow: Absolutely essential whether you’re making homemade Easter treats or just having a cosy moment with a cup of coffee.
  • Guinea Pigs: No, this isn’t about shopping for pets, but isn’t it cute how the word pops up just in time for Easter?

Guinea Pigs, Easter Fizz and Friday Feels

Talking about guinea pigs takes me back to when I was a child and we had one called Ludde. For those of you with kids at home right now (the school break is fast approaching), this is the perfect weekend to get a little craft project going. Let the little ones draw some guinea pigs or cut out egg shapes. Combine that with getting out the Easter fizz and some marshmallows from the cupboard, and you’ve got yourself a Friday night sorted. It’s not about making it complicated, it’s about capturing the feeling of March – that transitional time between winter and spring that’s so charged with anticipation.

I’m convinced this is going to be one of the best weekends in a long time. Whether you spend it hunting down the season’s chicest pot plant at Marshalls, or you’d rather lie on the sofa eating marshmallows while gazing at the stars – do whatever feels right for you. Mars (the planet) gives us courage, and the month of March brings us the light. Let’s go for it!
