Thank goodness it’s Friday, 27 March. There’s something special about this time of year, as March draws to a close and we start to catch the scent of Easter in the air. The sun’s trying to break through, and you can’t help but feel a little flutter of excitement – because things are finally happening. I’ve spoken to several readers this morning who are buzzing with energy, and if you take a look at the stars today, you’ll see why.

Today’s Horoscope: The Stars’ Advice for Friday

For those who follow astrology, today is a really interesting one. Aries, currently in their absolute prime, are being visited by a harmonious aspect that means any projects started earlier in the month are suddenly falling into place. Leo, on the other hand, should be mindful of communication. Rumour has it there could be a slight tendency for misunderstandings around lunchtime, so double-check those texts before you hit send. For me, born under a different sign, it’s more about daring to let go of control. Mars is strong in the sky, pushing us to take those steps we’ve been putting off. Today’s not the day to be timid – it’s the day to act.

From Outer Space to the Living Room

Talking about Mars (the planet, that is, not the month) instantly gets me in the mood for something else entirely. Maybe that’s why my social feeds have been full of a particular trend this week. People online are doing something they’re calling the “Marshalls challenge” – you know, that American chain where you can pick up bits and pieces for next to nothing. The combination of hunting for bargains at Marshalls and then cosying up at home with a big pile of marshmallows on the sofa seems to be the new Friday night favourite. And I have to say, I’m totally on board.

  • Marshalls: Perfect for finding quirky homeware pieces ahead of the Easter weekend.
  • Marshmallow: Absolutely essential when you’re making homemade Easter treats or just fancy a cosy moment with a cup of coffee.
  • Guinea pigs: No, this isn’t about shopping for pets, but isn’t it cute how the word keeps popping up so close to Easter?

Guinea Pigs, Easter Soda and Friday Feels

Mentioning guinea pigs takes me back to when I was little and we had one called Ludde. For those of you with kids at home right now (the school holidays are fast approaching), this is the perfect weekend to get a little craft project going. Get the little ones to draw some guinea pigs or cut out egg shapes. Pair that with bringing out the Easter soda and a few marshmallows from the cupboard, and you’ve got yourself a Friday night to remember. It’s not about making things complicated; it’s about capturing that feeling of March – that transition between winter and spring, so full of anticipation.

I’m convinced this is going to be one of the best weekends in a long time. Whether you spend it hunting down the season’s chicest potted plant at Marshalls, or you’d rather lie on the sofa eating marshmallows while stargazing – do whatever feels right for you. Mars (the planet) gives us courage, and the month of March brings us more light. Let’s go for it!
