If you were one of the hundreds of thousands who took the ALP CBT 1 earlier this year, today is the day you've been waiting for. The board has officially released the RRB ALP Answer Key 2026, and the window for raising objections is now open. I know the tension has been building since the exams finished, but now you finally get a chance to see how you did before the final results are confirmed.

RRB ALP Answer Key 2026

As of 5 PM on 20 March, the provisional answer keys, along with your individual recorded responses and the question papers, have been uploaded to the official websites of all regional boards. This is your chance to sit down, compare your memory with the official record, and work out your likely score. The board has kept the portal open for objections until 26 March 2026 (5 PM), so you have exactly one week to get this done.

Why This Window Matters More Than You Think

This isn’t just about getting an early look at your marks. It’s about transparency. The recruitment board runs one of the biggest drives in the country, and with 9,970 Assistant Loco Pilot vacancies up for grabs under CEN 01/2025, the competition is incredibly fierce. The CBT was held in multiple phases from 13 February to 18 February, and even a single mark can be the difference between qualifying and waiting for the next cycle. If you spot a discrepancy in the answer key, raising an objection now is your only chance to get it corrected.

How to Check the Key and File Your Objections

The process is straightforward, but don’t leave it until the last minute. Regional websites have a habit of crashing when everyone logs in at once on the final day. Here’s how to do it:

  • Visit the official website: Go to the site of the regional board you applied under (RRB Mumbai, RRB Chennai, etc.).
  • Find the ALP Link: Look for the “RRB ALP CBT 1 Answer Key 2026” or “View Questions/Responses” link on the homepage.
  • Log in: Enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth/Password to access your personalised dashboard.
  • Review: You will see your marked responses alongside the provisional answer key.
  • Raise Objections: If you feel an answer is wrong, select the question, pay the fee, and upload supporting documents (like standard textbooks or official references) to justify your challenge.

Cost, Payment, and Refund Rules

Let’s talk about the cost, as it’s an important factor. The board charges a nominal fee of ₹50 per question to file an objection, plus any applicable bank charges. You can pay via UPI, net banking, debit card, or credit card. Here’s the key point: if your objection is found to be valid and the board changes the answer key, that ₹50 will be refunded to your account (after deducting bank service charges). If your objection is rejected, you forfeit the fee. This system ensures that only serious challenges are submitted, saving the board from frivolous complaints.

What About the Technician Posts?

While the focus is currently on the ALP key, the Railway Recruitment Board Exam (RRB) ALP & Technician recruitment cycle is a combined process. If you are applying for Technician Grade I or Grade III positions, keep an eye out. The CBT for technicians under CEN 02/2025 is scheduled to take place from 5 March to 9 March. With 6,238 vacancies available in the technician category, the notification cycle is already underway, and the admit cards for those will be released soon.

What Happens After 26 March?

Once the objection window closes, the board’s panel of subject experts will get to work. They will review all the valid challenges submitted during this week. If any objections are accepted, they will revise the provisional key and release the final answer key. Based on that final key, the results for CBT 1 will be prepared. Only those who clear this stage will move on to CBT 2 or the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), depending on the post.

So, if you took the ALP exam, don’t just log in, glance at the key, and log out. Download your response sheet, take a printout, and double-check everything. This is the only time the board is listening to your feedback. Make it count.
